I’m an SCU graduate with a B.S. in English and Environmental Studies. I recently graduated from USC’s Master of Urban Planning program. I originally started out as an Environmental Studies Major. Yet, I really loved reading and writing so I decided to add an English major and work at an UX lab. You might wonder, where does UX come in? I took an English class centered around UX work, and became fascinated with the different stages of design. The testing of mockups reminded me of the scientific process I had been exposed to in Environmental Studies. I included a picture of some peppers my colleagues and I picked during my BUG internship because this internship reminded me why I want to be a planner- to create and aid communities. UX work and environmental studies have both prepared me for the collaborative efforts, communication, and creativity expected of a planner.
